Twyla Fields is a Certified Paralegal and legal assistant to Mr. White and Mr. Massey. Twyla maintains various files from simple business matters to complex, document intensive litigation matters. She assists Mr. White in all aspects of his practice from the onset of the case to the conclusion, whether trial by Judge or by Jury. Twyla also acts as supervising legal assistant and oversees matters entrusted to other legal assistants and support staff. Twyla has over 30 years experience assisting attorneys in all areas of law with extensive experience in business and civil litigation. Twyla has obtained her national certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants and proudly carries the mark of Certified Paralegal.

Twyla is an active member of the Legal Assistants Division (LAD) of the State Bar of Texas, the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), and the Tyler Area Association of Legal Professionals (TAALP). Twyla has served as an officer on the Board of TAALP as 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer and has chaired various committees for TAALP over the last 18 years. Additionally, Twyla has been appointed and presided as Special Commissioner for Smith County on various condemnation cases.

Twyla is married and has 3 children and 2 “grandgirls.” She enjoys scrap-booking and is an independent consultant for Creative Memories. She is a member of Flint Baptist Church and volunteers at East Texas Christian Academy (ETCA) where her youngest currently attends school. She has, for many years, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and served on the board of Rose Capital West Little League.

Susan K. Gardner

Susan Gardner is legal assistant to Mr. White and Mr. Massey. Susan maintains collections, post-judgment collections, commercial litigation and transaction files in addition to assisting Mr. White and Mr. Massey in all aspects of their respective practices. Susan has over 5 years experience as a legal assistant.

Susan is married and has three boys. Susan is a native East Texan, but has traveled and lived all over the world. She is a member of First United Methodist Church in Bullard, Texas, and is also active in the Bullard Area Chamber of Commerce. Her spare time is divided between her three boys, volunteering at The Brookhill School, reading, and going to the theater.

Kim Ortiz

Kim Ortiz is a native of East Texas. She began her legal career 3 years ago. She is currently assisting in all areas of the law office.

She graduated from Tyler Junior College in 2007. She currently holds an Associate in Applied Science degree under the Legal Studies program. While studying at TJC, she was inducted as a member of the International Honor Society for Junior Colleges, Phi Theta Kappa.

She is a Certified Paralegal as of August 2008. She is an active member of the Tyler Area Association of Legal Professionals (TAALP). She joined TAALP in 2006 as a student member and became extremely involved as a regular member and now serves on the Board of Directors. She is a member of NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) and joined the Legal Assistants Division of the State Bar of Texas in 2007.

She has one son where all extra time is devoted. They love to bike ride, swim, watch movies, and travel or anything outdoors. Her favorite activity is to watch her son play sports. They have been members of Green Acres Baptist Church for several years and have previously served extensively in the Singles and Children’s Ministries.
